Moth Pick Of The Week – Storybook

Jennings - Storybook EP

Review:

I came across Jennings music a couple of months ago and was immediately drawn into it’s unique sound. Her style is very much an electronica influenced pop that’s a bit in the vein of Imogen Heap but with bit more of an organic flair.

Her latest EP Storybook exemplifies this style perfectly. Each track shines with poppy melodic melodies that stay with you. Jennings’s amazing cover of “Umbrella” is prime example of this. It’s just the kind of album that even if you only listen to once (though I highly recommend that you listen to more than just once) you’ll find its songs running through your head all day long.

Perhaps it’s due to my deep rooted love for the film Garden State, but I’m just waiting for an indie filmmaker to discover this EP. I could easily hear Jennings’s music being used in a film like Juno or Nick & Nora’s Infinite Playlist.

Storybook is poignant, passionate, and smooth. That’s why it’s this week’s Moth Pick Of The Week.
